Ideas for building a Modern Dollhouse

I've been collecting photos for the past year from architecture and decor magazines for my own original modern dollhouse. The more I see, the more I realize that I can start out with a basic boxy structure...put in floor to ceiling acrylic windows and maybe raise it off the ground and add some cool wide stairs leading to the entrance. 5, Count em' 5, Modern Dollhouse Plans

The following link will show the Sunset Book from the mid 1970s ,"Things to make for Children" , that has the plans for 5 great modern dollhouses. I just bought one from AbeBooks for 3 dollars. This is a must have! If you go to Google websearch and put in Sunset, Things to Make for Children, different sites will come up with this book. It has a person painting a clown on the cover..the clown is dressed in red. It was published in 1973. I am so excited about this because I've been looking for modern dollhouse plans for what seems like years!! Good luck to all of you in your searches.

I have come across a variety of Modern Dollhouses that are so inspiring in terms of using their layout to build your own modern dollhouse. The easiest plans are very modular and simple to reproduce on your own. This is the Lundby Stockholm Modern Dollhouse. It runs about 199.99 and has the electrical system for lighting already built in. Also, check out a site that I just discovered called WE LOVE LUNDBY .

How fantastic that there are more and more blogs on collecting modern miniatures and dollhouses. I hope that I can add to all of the information floating around out there. It really takes a lot of searching on the computer to connect to others who are "into" this type of collecting and building. I'm new at blogging but have a lot to share so check back often!
